Join us for an experimental, hands-on workshop, where we bring the iconic Nintendo WiiMote back to life.
During the workshop, we will explore how to reactivate older gaming hardware through the principles of permacomputing. 

Our focus will be the Nintendo Wii, for which we will collectively create a homebrew video game that can be played on original hardware.The content of the game will centre on the imagined lives of Mii characters left behind when old Wii consoles are discarded. Through drawing, writing, storytelling, and game design, we will explore these abended digital characters.

No coding experience is required. 

 Please bring a laptop and/or any materials you like to work with, such as a notebook, pencils, paint, or any medium you feel comfortable using to create images and ideas. If you own a Nintendo Wii and bring it along, we will show you how to hack the console so it can run homebrew games.

Every month artists and creatives get together at .zip (Rotterdam) to work on their personal sites with HTML, CSS and Javascript. Sickhouse is joining in as a location. We will be connected via a screen :) When we get stuck on difficult coding challenges, we have each other to help out. At the end of the night, we’ll show off our pages, and join each other’s ‘webrings’.

Cinema Obscura starts with a side program to help immerse ourselves in the film and connect with each other before entering the film itself. Expect crafting, soft role play and discussion.

Cinema Obscura is a curated film screening program focused on cult, experimental, and unconventional cinema.
In the early days, the films were never announced in advance and the spectators discover them either through the introduction by the organizers or even during the screening itself.

The program is challenging, controversial and unique. Each screening is meant to be a special experience, beginning at the moment you sit down in our vintage cinema chairs from 1936. You are invited to react, interact, discuss, scream, laugh and embrace the shared discovery of strange films.

Cinema Obscura will run throughout the year with a monthly screening. Some films will be announced, some will remain a mystery…
