 we talk, present, introduce, give feedback and enjoy creations and ideas and, of course, we play.

 is developing a local network for the indie/ arthouse /serious game industry in the east of the Netherlands. With Colliders, we want to support each other and create more opportunities for collaborations and exchange. The meet ups are open to makers, enthusiasts, producers, artists, curators etc...

If we look at the evolution of the medium, videogame developers are known for embracing technical limitations and squeeze them in creative ways as part of their creative process.

Whatever you find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely becomes its signature. […] All this will be cherished and emulated as soon as they can be avoided (Brian Eno 1995).

In this edition of the colliders we will have a collection of modern games that revisit the aesthetics of old ones. We will explore and discuss the intrinsic features of the medium and why artist and creatives choose this format to tell their stories.

Additionally we will have the classic presentations to share with one another our latest discoveries, progress and stories.

COLLIDERS game maker meet-up

Last drive-in movie of the year at Studio Complex.

If you like body-horror, you have to see this David Cronenberg classic from 1986 about a scientist (Seth Brundle) who accidentally merges his DNA with that of a fly. Things get nasty when his body and mind begin to assimilate the insect behind his girlfriend’s anguish (Veronica Quaife)...and that of the audience.

The Fly at Studio Complex

A project to explore textiles as a medium for collective expression and social resistance.

We usually meet every third Wednesday of the month to work on our textile project while chatting about social topics that deserve our attention. At S2R we learn new skills, perspectives, and stitch together towards a collaborative piece.

We are currently working on a collective banner that represents our community in Enschede and the ways we resist together. This will be shown at The Overkill Festival 2024 and in order to have it ready on time, we will have three more sessions.
