The weather report

The Weather Report is a LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) about discussing the weather with people you can't safely talk to about anything else. It’s as awkward, funny, and sad as it sounds.

In this LARP, you will experience decades of a family's life in just three hours. While communication methods and technology evolve, the central question remains the same: What is love, and is it still present when the only safe conversation topics are drizzling days, grey skies, or the lack of sun?

No prior LARP experience is needed to join—just come and embrace the joy of playfulness, even in serious circumstances. A workshop will be held beforehand to help you get into character and learn the rules, followed by an after-discussion to process the experience.

The Weather Report is hosted by Jana Romanova, a multidisciplinary artist inspired by misunderstandings. Jana works with performance and play practices, using photography and video to explore the gaps between what we say and what we do. She views these breaches in communication as opportunities for connection, whatever that might mean. Jana Romanova is researching how games, play, and playfulness can serve as tools for creating meaningful connections. As part of her art practice, she designs and facilitates LARPs and games in physical spaces.
